The idea of establishing a fully integrated cocoa and chocolate in Ghana started as a hobby. After working in the cocoa industry for some years, getting the opportunity to interact with various players and stakeholders along the entire value chain, it became apparent that Ghana, the world's second-largest producer and exporter of cocoa beans, needs a homegrown chocolate venture that produces products comparable and even outperforms chocolates produced anywhere else.
This discovery led to the establishment of cocoaprojects. Since 2015, cocoaprojects has partnered with different companies, organizations and a university to undertake various projects aimed at mitigating the many problems faced by some cocoa farmers and their families in their daily lives in Ghana. Cocoaprojects has participated in and organized a wide range of industry conferences, seminars, exhibitions and other events in countries all over the world.
These activities have provided a great to learn and continuously develop. Key areas of the cocoa industry that have resonated with the principles of cocoaprojects include Fine and Flavour Cocoa, Bean-to-bar chocolate production, innovative and modern ICT and other technologies in cocoa farming, and chocolate consumption in African countries.
